Carmen Ruiz

Community Health Worker

Mrs. Ruiz is a Bilingual Community Health Worker who is responsible for performing outreach and education throughout Mercer County. She communicates the programs and services available to our target population, more specifically men and women of childbearing age and their families.

Prior to joining CF, Ms. Ruiz worked at Henry J. Austin (HJA) as a Financial Counselor and Receptionist for Project Access and Counseling and Testing for HIV/AIDS patients. Carmen helped patients validate documents for registration, assisted medical providers with entering health insurance information and scheduled patient appointments to assigned departments.

Before HJA, Ms. Ruiz worked for the Capital Health for 13 years as A Medical Outreach Worker and Social Worker for HIV/AIDS patients.

Ms. Ruiz has always been involved in the community with organizations and contributes to the efforts of the American Heart Association, and has served as a board member of the Puerto Rican Parade of Trenton and the Latina Women’s Council of Mercer County.
