Use these resources to aid your prenatal care
Having a healthy pregnancy is one of the best ways to promote a healthy birth. Getting early and regular prenatal care improves the chances of a healthy pregnancy. If you suspect that you may be pregnant, you’ll need to schedule an appointment with your health care provider to begin prenatal care.
What you should expect during your prenatal visit:·
· Physical exam
· Weight checks
· Provide urine sample
· Blood tests
· Ultrasound exams
If you’re not pregnant but you’re thinking about getting pregnant, you should know how health conditions and risk factors could affect you or your unborn child. This is what’s called “preconception”.
· Begin taking care of yourself
· Stop smoking and drinking
· Seek medical care for any medical conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.
· Take folic acid daily at least three months before getting pregnant
